Scout Gaming to launch in India with Playsafe Games deal
Norwegian B2B fantasy sports and pool betting provider, Scout Gaming has inked a licensing agreement with Playsafe Games Pvt Ltd that will see India’s biggest sports website, Scoring 11, access its complete product offering and will operate in the same company as Indiabet.com, according to a press release.
In India, fantasy sports is considered to be a skill game and therefore legal.
Indian market presence:
Commenting on the commercial deal, Chief Executive Officer for Scout Gaming, Andreas Ternström, said…
“This is the third customer agreement we sign where the counter-party is expected to have a significant presence in the Indian market that is growing strongly. Cricket is a huge sport locally and I’am excited about continuing to grow the liquidity network we have established. Further on this means larger prize pools and a more attractive product.”
Fantasy sports focus:
Also commenting on the freshly-inked licensing agreement, Chief Executive Officer for Indiabet.com, Harshit Mehta, added…
“We see how Fantasy Sports has a strong growth in the country. With players like Dream11 who are extremely popular at the forefront, we have explored the possibilities of expanding our value chain to operator business focusing exclusively on fantasy sports. After that scan of the market, Scout Gaming came across as the most competitive player, having established a global liquidity network with access to both popular local sports such as Cricket and Kabaddi, but also international leagues such as Premier League are something we believe will be winning in the long run.”
Playsafe Games:
Indiabet.com is owned by Sports Gaming UK and holds a stake in Scoring 11, which is also expected to be a part of the global liquidity network of Scout Gaming. (Playsafe Games Pvt Ltd). IndiaBet is run in the South Asia country by Harshit Mehta, who owns majority shares in Playsafe Games Pvt Ltd. The sports betting website is originally an affiliate which focuses on the Indian market. Scout Gaming‘s offering is expected to be launched sometime during the year.
VM Manager launch:
The current deal is on the heels of Scout Gaming’s launch of fantasy sports game, VM Manager, in winter sports for NRK, a Norwegian government-owned radio and television public broadcasting company, and the largest media organization in the Scandinavian country.
Logrand Entertainment tie-up:
Just prior to that, the Bergen-based company was at ICE London with its range of Daily Fantasy Sports and Pool Betting products on exhibit for three days. The provider also recently entered the Mexican market with the signing of a license agreement with Logrand Entertainment Group giving the San Pedro Garza García-headquartered company full access to Scout Gaming’s complete Fantasy Sports platform.
Licensing agreements:
In addition to receiving permission from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) to offer its B2B solutions to operators licensed in the UK and being awarded ”Best DFS Product” at SBC Awards 2018, Scout has scored multiple licensing agreements with top operators, including in late December with leading provider of innovative and efficient turnkey solutions, Knockout Gaming, as well as with tier 1 operator, Dafabet.
