Re-launch of Blue Horizon Casino Cruise ship set for Oct 13
The Palm Beach County Blue Horizon Casino Cruise ship is set to offer passengers a continuous cruise schedule starting in less than 2 weeks.
According to the latest information the 600-passenger ship is on its way back from Jacksonville and will launch from its Riviera Beach, (Port of Palm Beach) Florida birth on October 13.
After only being operational for a few weeks the boat was taken out of service for maintenance when a lightning strike knocked out the ship’s communications system. The ship’s owners, PB Gaming had already planned on replacing the boat’s engines next year, so service was suspended for the safety of guests and staff alike. Rather than risk further disappointments to customers the company opted to place the vessel in dry dock and completely replace the two engines at a cost of over $1 million. Delays in completion kept the ship out of Port longer than expected.
Gaming offered on the three-deck Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) vessel includes blackjack, bingo, electronic bingo, live craps and roulette, an array of popular titled slot machines, and the only legal sports book in South Florida. Dining choices include Rebecca’s Grille, a 90-feet buffet featuring seasonally inspired dishes including Asian, Latin, Italian, home-style, seafood and International menus, or a la carte choices, K.T. & Jessie’s Place and Diane’s Bar.
Blue Horizon is booking now for special holiday cruises including Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Social media is being updated and a new website with online booking for individual and group cruises is operational. Online reservations receive a discount with current fares now under $20.
